Our Story
The roots of The Jewel Box run deep. Our journey began in Chicago, as Theo’s Jewelers, where my father, Theo, was a trusted jeweler on the city’s historic Jeweler’s Row since 1977. I grew up in the world of diamonds, gold, and craftsmanship—learning the art of jewelry making from master fabricators, watchmakers, and diamond dealers. Over time, my passion grew from tradition into personal expression, and I began creating designs that reflect both timeless elegance and modern flair.
After years in the fast-paced downtown scene, I knew it was time for a change—a space where creativity, connection, and community could thrive. That change brought us to Clayton, North Carolina. From the moment we opened our doors on Main Street, the local support has been overwhelming and inspiring.
The Jewel Box is a fresh chapter—an evolution of the family legacy and a rebrand rooted in authenticity. It’s a place where you’ll find unique, high-quality pieces - including vintage and custom, personal service, and a welcoming atmosphere. My son now works alongside me, continuing the tradition and adding his own perspective to the business. Together, we’re proud to be part of the growing Clayton community.
We’re also active members of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Clayton Rotary Club, Triangle Area Networking Group (TANG), and graduates of the Launch JoCo entrepreneurship program. Outside of the shop, my wife and I are hands-on DIYers who always have a project in motion—and we love giving back whenever we can
